The Ecomuseum of the Pistoiese Mountain has been active since the middle 80’s in recapturing and enhancing the typical cultural and traditional heritage of the Tuscan Apennine. It hosts 10.000 visitors every year in its open-space museums. Today at the BTS the Ecomuseum presents EMEx (Ecomuseum Mountain Bike Experience), which consists in 6 cycle trip circuits organised in order to discover the landscape and cultural beauty of the Pistoiese mountain from Abetone on to Pistoia . EMEx is created to suit professional athletes, beginners and families wanting to use this ecological mode of transport to see the wonders of nature and to visit ancient rural buildings (mills, iceworks, ironworks, medieval bridges, etc…). The result is an exciting encounter with local history and with daily life as it was in the past.
